Holiday Greetings

I just put my first batch of holiday cards in the mailbox. I’d be sending them all out together but I ran out of postage in my meter. How many geeks you know are printing their own postage this year? Haha

As I collect mailing addresses of friends and family, I think I may have to buy a second box of cards. Nuts! I hope they have some left on Thursday.

Insurance savings?

Just for kicks, since I already do a lot of business with CapitalOne, I decided to try out their auto insurance quote engine. I entered all of my information with my current policy on my desk, going from step to step and finally get to a screen which reads, in part:

Congratulations, we are pleased to offer you savings on what you are currently paying for auto insurance.

Following that is a chart which has quotes which range from double to triple what I am currently paying. It makes me want to hug my agent.

So here’s my free plug: If you’re local to Orlando and think you’re paying too much for auto insurance, give Brown & Brown a call at 407-660-8282 and get a quote. I’ve been using them for years. It probably wouldn’t hurt to tell them I sent you. :-)

Random

Have you ever spent a lot of time with someone who makes you both happy and sad at the same time? It sucks and no, I’m not talking about my roommate.

This may sound awful but I really like having the house to myself again.

I had a pair of cute girls in my front cab tonight. One was really cute. She said I looked like her band director. “That’s not a bad thing,” she says. Turns out they were 17. Ouch. Seems like only jailbait and 40-somethings flirt with me.

Damage Control

Out of respect for Tracie, I tried to keep things quiet for two weeks and I think I did an honorable job. Now that Employee Relations is getting involved, the cat appears to be out of the bag. It took less than 24 hours for the entire Monorail department to start buzzing on the news.

So now that it’s out, I think it’s my responsibility to do some damage control. Below I will present the facts so at least we don’t have the rumor mill making up a bunch of shit. Click the “read more” link to go on. This is all public record, so I’m not divulging any real secrets here. The original post from the old site didn’t make it across. I’ll post the remainder here soon
