What the Puck is going on?
July 4, 2005 on 4:42 pm | In General Nonsense | Comments OffLast night was a blast. heh. Tracy came and got me and we went to Wolfgang Puck’s Express at the West Side to grab something to eat…
They changed it all around! Some things are interesting… like how they give you a number placard and bring your food to you on real plates and you use real stainless flatware.
The interior of the store is stupid though. Now you order at the register, which is set up along the far wall. They’ve removed almost all of the grab-n-go items. You can tell they put a lot of thought into it because they have galvanized conduit running from the cashwrap up to the ceiling, probably for the register’s network connections and power.
Right after I ordered my pizza and while I was signing the receipt, the other cashier explained to a guest that "all pizzas take 25 minutes." Oh well, not much I can do now. We sat down and like 5 minutes later I had my pizza. Odd.
From there we went and got in line at House of Blues. They opened late following the concert, probably mopping up the blood and sweeping the broken glass and stuff. heheh. I think we got in at about 11. We hung out for a bit and then found Eric & Sarah and met Scott and Angie.
It was a pretty good show. The dancing girls were up in cages and dressed in costumes reminiscent of Wonder Woman.

Some things were meant to be done quickly.
As many of you know, I typically develop a "system" for doing things most efficiently. At work, our cycle times have suffered due to the new gates being installed. I have found a pretty damn fast way to get the trains out of the station, at the expense of guest service. But… like someone told me tonight, "This is what ‘they’ wanted, right?"
Step 1. Open the load gates as soon as the train hits the mark.
Step 2. Open the doors on the train as soon as possible. If you have a full platform, this means you open them immediately after Step 1.
Step 3. Wait approximately 15 seconds. You may load the front cab during this time if you like. If the station clock is working properly, it should be at about 35 seconds when you go to step 4.
Step 4. Close the gates.*
Step 5. Close the train doors. *
*Under no circumstances may you ever reopen the gates and/or train doors. Here’s why: The guests accept that the gates are automatic. If you reopen them because a party is separated, they know a human is in control and they will yell at you. The best defense here is to apologize and say that they will be only 2 or 3 minutes behind the rest of their party.
Oh yeah, and if a cast member is bitching at you because you closed the gates on them, explain that they need to get the fuck out of the way. In particular, the wheelchair ramp is for the guest using a wheelchair and his/her driver. Not the entire fucking party. Pick the goddamn thing up and re-read the SOG.
With these procedures, you can pretty much guarantee a 45 second dwell time.
Moving from MySpace…
July 2, 2005 on 7:19 am | In General Nonsense | Comments OffThose of you who know me from Myspace.com, welcome!
To show the slight change in focus here, I’ve changed to a new theme. Oh, the new focus is ME. Hahaha. No, that is not me in the proteinspill logo.
I’m still interested in your legitimate ad clicks and t-shirt orders. I plan to have more shirts available soon. Seriously.
