Crutchfield and Dual AV rocks

July 25, 2005 on 6:47 pm | In General Nonsense | Write a Comment

I finally got around to replacing the factory radio in Ol’ Blue. Please don’t steal it!

I love Crutchfield. When I accumulated enough cash, I went to Worst Buy and looked at their stuff. They have “free” installation there if you spend $99 or more. I asked the salesperson “How much is the ‘free’ installtion?” (Yes, I used finger quotes ;-)) He said about $60. Fuck that.

So I ordered a better unit from Crutchfield, got free installation parts, free shipping, etc. It wasn’t that hard to do the install as you’ll see in the gallery.

Back from Switzerland

I drove back from Switzerland Monday afternoon just in time for work. Yes, Switzerland, FL. I arrived about an hour before work and I hadn’t eaten anything but muffins and doughnuts at my mom’s, so I decided to zip over to the Contemporary to eat.

Unfortunately they had already stopped serving real food, so I had a cheeseburger. Ugh. Also, there were train and power problems that almost made me late getting back to westgate!

After work I spent some time with Tracy W. and borrowed her copy of the 4th Harry Potter book. She made me watch the first 3 movies and now I’m gonna try to catch up. Those of you who know me know I don’t read fiction usually, but this is a pretty easy read. The 734 pages don’t scare me.

Tuesday was awesome. I got to work with Maribeth and Mary W. Mary showed me her “O-face”! Maribeth only pulled my wings off once. (I hate that, btw)

During Wishes, they were both singing in their little-girl voices. I committed to singing in MY little-girl voice tonight. Lets hope they don’t hold me to it. haha. Especially since they each offered to kick me in the nuts to help me achieve my goal.

Oh and don’t forget, everybody. Planet Hollywood tomorrow night. First bar to the left!

Off to Jacksonville…

I’m headed off for an exciting weekend in Jacksonville. It’s my mom’s birthday on Sunday.

I’m supposed to be back for a shift in monorails at 1700 Monday… if you can help me out, please do. It’s overtime and it’s on the board! :-)
Also Sunday night I’m looking for something fun to do up there after mom’s bedtime. It’s been so long since I’ve lived up there. Anyone know of a cool club or bar in Mandarin or Southside?

savedisney links to news

Since savedisney.com is shuttering it’s website in August, I’ve removed the links from the right-hand column. Especially since they haven’t updated the RSS feed in months.

Personally, I think Roy should keep the site going. What better way to tell us how things are improving than to publish the accomplishments right there? I suppose we can all gather our information off of multiple sources. Perhaps I’ll be able to summarize and link from here.

Threat level: elevated

In light of the events in London and locally on Monday, security procedures in transportation–or at least monorails–was interesting today. Every train is checked by a Security Host and/or Monorail Host after guests step off. Cycles are suffering, but better to be safe…

I gave Maribeth her Sugarpop shirt today. It was triple-wrapped inside a tube-shaped box. She was embarrassed, but I think she really liked it.

And now… YOU can have your very own Sugarpop merchandise! Just go to the proteinspill store and place your order today! It’s super cute and you know you want it!

Finally, a number of us are going to Planet Hollywood on Thursday July 21 to take advantage of happy hour and the half-price appetizers for cast. More info is in the proteinspill calendar (left column). See you there!

I just happened to be browsing savedisney.com when I found this article about Disney Interns and saw Omarr Cantu’s name mentioned. We worked together at Speedway. Hi Omarr!

Read the "Friendly" Signs

I worked at exterior unload at TTC for most of my shift tonight. I went over to concourse to get a drink and a family of five or six was struggling up the ramp there. The first member asked me, “how many stops to the Grand Floridian?” *sigh*

I explain that this one goes to Epcot, and the one over there goes to Magic Kingdom, so they need to go back down the ramp and come up where the sign reads “RESORT HOTELS.” One of the women was walking with a cane and having a hard time getting up the ramp, so I offered a courtesy wheelchair. They took two.

About twenty minutes later they are stepping off an Express train, with Stan trying to explain how they can get to Resort. I recognized them right off… Stan was trying to get them to go around (again) but they were bitching that “They” sent them to the wrong train. That’s when I stepped in.

“No, I didn’t. I was here. I told you to take the resort monorail.”

They pretty much ignored me and insisted that we let them cut through express this time. Stan kinda put me on the spot: “Should we send them through?” he asked.

I politely took them through an exterior train and put them on resort directly, but not without mentioning that they, “should read the signs at the bottom of the ramp; it’ll save you a lot of walking.”

What the Puck is going on?

July 4, 2005 on 4:42 pm | In General Nonsense | Write a Comment

Last night was a blast. heh. Tracy came and got me and we went to Wolfgang Puck’s Express at the West Side to grab something to eat…

They changed it all around! Some things are interesting… like how they give you a number placard and bring your food to you on real plates and you use real stainless flatware.

The interior of the store is stupid though. Now you order at the register, which is set up along the far wall. They’ve removed almost all of the grab-n-go items. You can tell they put a lot of thought into it because they have galvanized conduit running from the cashwrap up to the ceiling, probably for the register’s network connections and power.

Right after I ordered my pizza and while I was signing the receipt, the other cashier explained to a guest that "all pizzas take 25 minutes." Oh well, not much I can do now. We sat down and like 5 minutes later I had my pizza. Odd.

From there we went and got in line at House of Blues. They opened late following the concert, probably mopping up the blood and sweeping the broken glass and stuff. heheh. I think we got in at about 11. We hung out for a bit and then found Eric & Sarah and met Scott and Angie.

It was a pretty good show. The dancing girls were up in cages and dressed in costumes reminiscent of Wonder Woman.

Moving from MySpace…

Those of you who know me from Myspace.com, welcome!

To show the slight change in focus here, I’ve changed to a new theme. Oh, the new focus is ME. Hahaha. No, that is not me in the proteinspill logo.

I’m still interested in your legitimate ad clicks and t-shirt orders. I plan to have more shirts available soon. Seriously.
